Nikoletta Lis

Midwife (BSc.), MPH, IBCLC, RYT

Nikoletta is the founder of Femiliarise. She is a midwife, lactation consultant, and researcher with a profound commitment to women's and families’ wellbeing.

Nikoletta completed her midwifery studies at the International Hellenic University of Thessaloniki, Greece, with a first-class honours degree in 2014. Immediately after that, she started to practice as a midwife in Greece. In 2017, Nikoletta moved to the Republic of Ireland, where she practiced for several years in both regional and university hospitals. Over the years, she has also provided her midwifery and lactation services in community and refugee camps under global, non-governmental organizations.

She holds two Master’s degrees: one in Exercise and Health and a second in Public Health. Additionally, she has various certifications in yoga, somatic movement, Reiki, and infant massage.

Clinically, she has gained experience in low and high risk antenatal, labour, postnatal care for women and neonates, pregnancy loss, as well as reproductive and sexual health.

Since 2019, as a lactation consultant (IBCLC), she has assisted many families and newborns during their breastfeeding journey. Nikoletta is an active member of the European Lactation Consultants Alliance (ELACTA).

During her journey, she came across the effects of epigenetics in health, functional medicine, and the integrative care model, all of which she has since started to apply in her practice.

Nikoletta strongly believes in the power of female body and advocates for natural approaches without interventions.

Her research interests include among others; the impact of exercise, environment, and nutrition on cellular aging and health.

The results of her research to-date, have been published in scientific journals and presented in conferences around the globe.

Currently, she resides and practices in Oslo Norway, providing her services both in person and through telehealth (virtually). She holds her midwifery registration in Norway, Greece, the Republic of Ireland, and the United Kingdom.
