Reproductive and sexual health is an essential part of your overall health and well-being.
Femiliarise provides a wide range of services to support your needs.

Menstrual Cycle

The menstrual cycle is often considered the fifth vital sign in a woman’s life. From menarche through the reproductive years and into menopause, the body’s needs and responses shift significantly. Throughout these phases, hormonal fluctuations influence mood, physical wellbeing, sexual drive, sleep patterns (circadian rhythm), and the fertility window.

Mapping your monthly cycle can offer valuable insight into your reproductive and overall health. By observing your unique pattern, we can identify potential hormonal imbalances and review or recommend relevant blood tests. In every case, we develop a personalised plan to help you synchronise holistically with your cycle. This plan is based on therapeutic exercise, targeted nutrients, and lifestyle strategies.

This approach is especially beneficial:

  • After discontinuing hormonal contraceptives, to help your body re‑establish its natural rhythm
  • During the perimenopausal and menopausal stages, when reproductive hormones naturally decline
  • When menopause occurs prematurely due to oophorectomy, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or primary ovarian insufficiency

Birth Trauma

There are situations during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period that can be particularly traumatic for the woman and for the couple or family.

These may include early pregnancy loss, intrauterine or neonatal death, a traumatic birth experience (such as a premature birth, an emergency caesarean section or a prolonged and difficult labour), obstetric emergencies during birth (for example, shoulder dystocia), as well as postpartum complications like pelvic floor trauma (episiotomy or spontaneous tears).

Beyond the physical strain, such experiences can lead to significant psychological and emotional distress, to the point of disrupting the woman’s daily life and the overall balance within the family.

Femiliarise offers, beyond physical recovery support, talk‑about sessions 4 to 6 weeks after childbirth, and at any other time they may be needed.

Pelvic Floor

Pelvic floor health plays a vital role in a woman’s well‑being during pregnancy, childbirth, and recovery. Research shows that 5%–10% of women experience spontaneous perineal muscle tears during birth, with many requiring surgical suturing, while an episiotomy may also be performed when clinically indicated.

Women recovering from vaginal births or pelvic surgeries often benefit from specialised rehabilitation to restore strength, coordination, and confidence. Through pelvic floor assessment, principles of exercise medicine, and individualised therapeutic exercise programs, we support optimal healing, reduce pain, and improve daily function.

For a truly holistic approach, we collaborate closely with an osteopath to ensure each woman receives comprehensive, integrated care that supports her body’s recovery and long‑term pelvic health.
