Frequently asked questions

Why prepare for breastfeeding before the baby is born?

Breastfeeding is natural, but it’s also a skill you and your baby learn together. Knowing about latch, positions and feeding cues in advance makes the first days less stressful and helps you spot early when you need support.

What is an IBCLC lactation consultant?

An IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) holds the highest international qualification in breastfeeding and lactation support.

I had difficulties breastfeeding my first baby. Is this course for me?

Yes. Many parents find it helpful to understand what happened last time and prepare differently. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you like.

When should I take a breastfeeding course?

We recommend taking it from 24 weeks of pregnancy, after your anatomy scan, so you feel prepared well before your baby arrives.

Can my partner join?

Yes. Partners play a big role in successful breastfeeding, and part of the course focuses on how they can help.
